An open letter to anyone who’s competing and failing
Little backstory –
I was a scholar. Perfect grades. 10 CGPA. Obedient and maybe a good kid for my parents…..
I was obsessed with grades and was knee deep at being the best performer.
I remember crying in the bathroom for hours just thinking about what’s gonna happen in the exam tomorrow and fighting for 1/2 a mark.
Fast forward to now, and holy moly, has my life done a 360 degree spin. Don’t get me wrong, I still have goals and dreams – they’re just… different. Less about acing tests and more about, well … .life.
Here’s the tea: Those grades? They don’t mean jack in the long run. Seriously. All that time I spent competing with everyone else? Total waste.
These days, my only real competition is the person I see in the mirror every morning.
Ask yourself:
Best at what?
According to who?
It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out yet. Honestly, I am still figuring it most days! But I promise you, once you stop obsessing over being “the best” and start focusing on being YOUR best, things get a whole lot easier.
So here’s my advice, take it or leave it: Breathe. Relax. You’re doing fine. And if you’re not? Well, that’s fine too. We’re all just figuring this life thing out as we go along.
Remember, at the end of the day, the only person you need to impress is yourself. Everything else? It’s just noise.
